Shelby was always one of “I can eat whatever I want if I work out hard enough” people. She fell into the category of a yo-yo dieter. She looked into those “how to lose 10 pounds in a week” diets, but never found herself able to restrict enough to even see results short-term.
Eventually, she figured out the importance of nutrition in terms of improving the one thing she loved, fitness. It was at that time that she started learning how to eat outside of a purely caloric restriction. That's when she hired a nutrition coach and began working on macro balancing.
Learning so much through nutrition and its powerful impact on our lives, Shelby got certified in nutrition coaching and proceeded to start her own coaching business so she could coach in a way that she truly believed in. Her major coaching emphasis has been improving relationships with food and taking a lot of the negative stigmas out of nutrition.
Her increasing passion for coaching comes from watching her clients break free from food stigmas and yo-yo dieting. She loves showing people that you don’t have to live in a world of restriction to see the results that you want.

How to Track Macros | Protein
Did you know there is a difference between the weight of food when it’s raw and when it’s cooked? Raw food loses on average 25% volume once it is cooked as water evaporates away. That water loss will vary depending on cooking method, how long you cook your food, the amount of water in that food, etc, but for simplicity sake, let’s call it 25%. This can make accurately tracking your macros for protein a little tricky. We've outlined some of the common mistakes people make when logging your macros into MyFitnessPal and a few easy ways to avoid those missteps in the future.
