With a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science, Shelby brings both expert knowledge and real-life experience to her role as a nutrition coach.
Her coaching journey began with personal frustration—years of yo-yo dieting and chasing unsustainable quick fixes. It wasn’t until she shifted her mindset toward performance, consistency, and fueling well that everything changed. That transformation sparked a deep passion to help others find the same freedom.
Shelby’s ideal client is curious, open-minded, and ready to grow—not just physically, but mentally. She especially loves working with athletes who are ready to level up their training by fueling properly and embracing the mindset shifts that come with it.
Shelby’s mission is to guide clients toward a more empowered relationship with food—where meals support their goals and their life. Her favorite part of coaching is seeing clients grow in confidence, both physically and mentally, as they move away from restriction and into sustainable success.

How to Track Macros | Protein
Did you know there is a difference between the weight of food when it’s raw and when it’s cooked? Raw food loses on average 25% volume once it is cooked as water evaporates away. That water loss will vary depending on cooking method, how long you cook your food, the amount of water in that food, etc, but for simplicity sake, let’s call it 25%. This can make accurately tracking your macros for protein a little tricky. We've outlined some of the common mistakes people make when logging your macros into MyFitnessPal and a few easy ways to avoid those missteps in the future.
Strategies for Unpacking the "What-if's" in your Nutrition Journey
One of the biggest concerns that clients have around consistency is what to do when they can’t control their meals fully. “What do I do when I’m not 100% in control of the food I’m going to eat? What if I’m not cooking it? What if I can’t use my scale? What if I’m at a restaurant, work dinner, baby shower, picnic, etc.” These ‘what if’s’ can often become bottlenecks to finding consistency. We'll talk through some strategies to employ to find consistency even when you’re not 100% in control of the food you’re eating. We’ll also tackle two important things: understanding your goals and personal nutrition journey and the role of perfectionism and mindset in achieving your goals.
